Greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Many of you have written cards and letters of encouragement to me and my wife, and I thank you very much.

The question constantly arises, where do we go from here? Many of us expected the Lord’s return a few months ago, and obviously we are still here. Family Radio is still operating. What should be our thinking now? What is God teaching us? In our Bible study over the past few years, we came to the conclusion that May 21 and October 21 were very important dates in the Biblical calendar. We now believe God led us to those dates, but did not give us complete understanding. In fact, we did not understand at all the correct significance of those two dates. We are waiting upon the Lord, and in His mercy He may give us understanding in the future regarding the significance of those two dates.

The Bible gives us the example of the prophet Jonah, and God’s command to preach to Nineveh the message that they would be destroyed in 40 days. Jonah had no idea that God would not destroy Nineveh, or that He would have compassion on those people. There is serious evidence in the Bible that many of them were saved, because God says in Jonah 3:10: “And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that He had said that He would do unto them; and He did it not.” Therefore He did not destroy them. Jonah was very disgruntled by God’s apparent change of plans. In truth, God did not tell him the whole story. God’s purpose was for Jonah to bring the message of God’s judgment, but He did not tell him what the outcome would be. In the same way, we believe God used Family Radio for the purpose of getting the message of the coming judgment out to the whole world. Many of you participated in that important task of warning the world. In the same way that God destroyed the whole world with the flood 7000 years ago, God will definitely destroy the whole world again on the last day. The whole world has been warned. But we are still here, and our task continues to be to proclaim God’s Word. In Matthew 28 Christ gave His believers the command to preach the Gospel to the whole world. That command has not been rescinded anywhere in the Bible. We know that Christ tells us to “occupy” until He comes.

Indeed, Christ tells us in John 9:5 that as long as He is in the world, He is the light of the world. The light of the world has everything to do with salvation. Jesus is the light of the world, and since nothing shows the light has gone out, that emphasizes that salvation has to still be possible. How long is Jesus in the world? Matthew 28:20 tells us: “Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Before the foundations of the world, Christ paid for the sins of the elect. Over the course of history, His chosen people have been born, and born again as God gives them the wonderful gift of salvation, which includes the marvelous inheritance He has for us. We have no idea how wonderful this inheritance is. We do not know who the elect are, or when God will give them this gift. Because we cannot know this, we must continue to shine the light of the Gospel. The light is for the elect, and only God knows who they are. The unsaved of the world who are not elect to salvation will continue to be in darkness, and are blind to truth.

Jesus said in John 10:9: “I am the door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” We know that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He has always been the open Door for the elect. On the other hand, because Christ has complete control of this, that Door will never be open for the non-elect.

Many of you have questioned whether we still hold the position that the church age is over. Indeed we still hold that to be true. The Scriptural evidence is overwhelming, as is the apostasy evident in the churches. We do not believe the Biblical calendar is incorrect. We cannot understand right now what God’s plan is for this time that we are in, which is why we continue to wait upon God and pray for wisdom. But we know we must continue to proclaim the Gospel of salvation as we wait for the return of Christ, because Jesus told us in Matthew 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” That light is Christ. And God says in Luke 19:13: “Occupy till I come.” Therefore our efforts to send out the Gospel of salvation should be done as earnestly and aggressively as we have ever done before.

Let us continue in prayer as we seek to do God’s perfect will.
